Tool Implementation – How to Add Scenario

LR LoadRunner

  1. Open Controller
  2. Go to Scenario > Schedule by Scenario
  3. Select "Load Scenario"
  4. Click Add
  5. Define Run Duration and Load Behavior
  6. Choose the schedule type: By Step (Ramp-up / Steady / Ramp-down)
  7. Add steps:
    • Step 1: Ramp-up (15 min to 100 users)
    • Step 2: Steady (30 min at 100 users)
    • Step 3: Ramp-down (15 min to 0 users)
  8. Click OK and Save

JM Apache JMeter

  1. Add Thread Group
  2. Set Number of Threads (Users): 100
  3. Set Ramp-up Period (in seconds): 900 (15 min)
  4. Set Loop Count: Duration or Forever

To hold load for 30 min steady state:

  1. Add a Constant Throughput Timer or
  2. Use Ultimate Thread Group (for advanced)
  3. Set Ramp-down: Use Stepping Thread Group
  4. Add steps:
    • Ramp-up to 100 users in 15 min
    • Hold for 30 min
    • Ramp-down to 0 in 15 min
